About The Mindbody Center for Counseling

Donna Duckman, M.A., L.P.C., Specializing in the
Treatment of Anxiety

The center is directed by Donna Duckman, a psychotherapist with 30 years of experience in counseling, teaching, stress management, coaching, biofeedback, Qigong (ChiKung), meditation, couples counseling and group work. Her passion is to help others change their patterns of anxiety to a way of living with more ease. Donna has been practicing as a psychotherapist, energy coach, and seminar leader for 30 years. She has served as a bridge builder between the best of traditional psychotherapy and the latest of mind-body technologies. Donna has known for years what science has proven today, that the mind and body are interdependent. You cannot affect the one without affecting the other. Today Donna artfully integrates solution focused therapeutic modalities with the latest in mind body technology and intuitive skill.

If you have ever felt that your emotions were about to get out of control and no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't manage your anxiety, we can help. And perhaps even if you tried harder, things only seemed to get worse, then you will benefit by working with a skilled cognitive-behavioral counselor who can train you in successful management of life's up's and downs.

You thought you were having a heart attack perhaps, and then the doctor or medical assistant, tells you that you had a panic attack. Perhaps they even say there is nothing wrong. You may have left there feeling confused or shamed because you know there is something not right, but as yet have no idea how to make things better. Chances are the medical team member explained there was medication that could help your condition but may not have had the time to tell you how you can learn self-management skills to alleviate your anxiety. This is where a skilled mental health therapist trained in multiple stress management modalities, skilled and experienced in designing a therapeutic treatment program created for the individual of the client, can help.

After 30 years of experience, Donna Duckman, Licensed Professional Counselor and Integrative Psychotherapist, has become an expert in training clients of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences in the treatment of anxiety. An individually designed process may include any or all of the following treatment modalities,

  • Insight and awareness development
  • Cognitive-behavioral training
  • Self-hypnosis training
  • Mindfulness process
  • Meditation
  • Computer assisted brain/body learning programs
  • Qigong (ChiKung)
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy

Her passion is to help others change their patterns of anxiety to a way of living with more ease. Donna has known for years what science has proven today, that the mind and body are interdependent. You cannot affect the one without affecting the other.

This integrated approach combined with play therapy, sand tray, art and computer games for children and adolescents also makes her approach accessible and engaging for children and teens.
