Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

When you choose The Mindbody Center for counseling or psychotherapy, you receive a comprehensive approach to your situation. We treat the mind and body as a constantly evolving system of information available to the client and therapist as they work together to establish whole person awareness to accomplish dynamic behavioral health… resulting in a reduction of self-blame, defeating behaviors and diminished sense of self.

Biofeedback, Relaxation, and Mindfulness
The traditional definition of counseling is professional guidance in resolving personal problems. In our practice, we treat the mind and body together as an interactive system to create positive change.

A process utilizing interventions that can bring dysfunctional behavior patterns and perceptions into view while
highlighting more balanced life patterns.

A consultation-based meeting, focused on clarifying issues and removing the obstacles
that are getting in the way.

Stress Management and Anxiety Treatments
Stress can surface within a variety of contexts: job, career, family life, spouse, finances, health and more. We help relieve the disturbing symptoms of stress and anxiety by utilizing the latest therapeutic treatments within a unique treatment program custom designed for you.

Marriage and Couples Counseling
Improving communication is fundamental for lasting relationships. However, we now know that changes in the brain can foster connection and trust, and can be enhanced by “re-patterning” belief systems and improving adaptations to stress.

Counseling and Therapy for Children
Our approach with children involves techniques that engage their inquisitive minds with learning experiences, new behaviors and play. We have extensive experience working with children recovering from divorce and other traumas, as well as those having difficulty focusing at school and at home.

Our Techniques and Methods:

Play Therapy: is the most effective psychological treatment for children ages 3 to 11. It provides a way for them to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. Play becomes an important vehicle for getting to know and accept themselves and others.

Sandtray: this dynamic and expressive form of psychotherapy allows children to express their inner world through symbols and metaphors.

Mindfulness and Somatic Awareness: uses the body’s senses to aid in reducing stress and living in the present, while gaining awareness.

Cognitive Therapy: consists of methods and procedures that expand awareness and change dysfunctional thinking. The utilization of art in this process aids awareness building.
